An ongoing project by Rudolph Castro, created with his son Kai. Music and illustration come together in a world of characters, friendship and belonging.
The House at Pooh Corner brings that world into a record: an illustrated sleeve, a collection of art prints and small paper details. These mockups show the edition as it develops.
“When I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, my kids were already grown. To have a child that’s barely out of being a toddler, with Down syndrome, and you’re the dad with Parkinson’s—you have to feel so helpless, because you have to be there for your kid. You want to be there for your kids. And somehow he was able to do it.
“Music brought out this other side of Kai and of Rudy, and a bond that’s irrevocable. I wouldn’t call it a project or a work of art. It’s just a beautiful relationship manifested through music.”
